We aim to motivate our learners to be self confident in their own special abilities and to be able to make a meaningful contribution within their community and the world at large.
Our College offers excellent academics, wonderful sports facilities and results, effective and inclusive cultural activities, meaningful community service, wide ranging and challenging exposure to outdoor activities and camps, a common set of values and behaviours with a courtesy code and exposure to the world and its cultures.

After only one year, the number of pupils had grown by 100%. During 1999 we were registered at the Western Cape Education Department as an independent school, and we have also become a member of the Independent Schools Association of South Africa (ISASA). There is a dedicated and suitably qualified member of staff for each Grade. The school has made provision for part-time staff members to further enrich the quality of teaching (English/Afrikaans Home Language Teachers, a Music Specialist, an Art Teacher and an Information Technology Teacher). Our teachers are passionate and qualified individuals, who provide quality education to our children. The school has a modern infrastructure and was designed in phases as to allow for future expansion. It is situated at the Mamre entrance of Darling on 2ha of land. There is more land available to accommodate future expansion. The school building is built in such a way as not to impede with future expansion. Preliminary second phase plans have been drawn up to allow for expansion. Our sports field is under construction and we hope to have our first game there before the end of We currently make use of the Darling Club sports fields that is conveniently located next door to the school. The building is WiFi enabled as well as a wireless network. Overall the school is well resourced and all classes have mounted data projectors to aid in teaching and learning. The buildings and land is managed by the Darling College Trust. The Trust is the outright owner of the land and buildings. The Governing Body consists of 12 members of which one is an independent educational consultant. The Trust has 8 members of which one member is an independent law consultant. At Darling College we strive to create a safe, happy learning environment, where learners are nurtured in a country setting and stimulated to be creative, inquisitive, industrious, adaptable and accountable. The Christian ethos is our bedrock; we teach and practise patriotism, tolerance and respect. The members of the governing body are professionals in their own right and are co-opted to perform specific tasks on the governing body that is related to their field of work. Children who have brothers or sisters in the nursery schools in Darling but not in the school. Children, with a statement of educational needs, which name our school as the providing establishment. 1.a) A Grade R learner who is five years old and who has turned six by 30 June of the entrance year, or a learner who turns seven during course of the entrance year. In all other circumstances, or if the application is not received until after September, late applications will receive a lower priority and only be considered after the applications received (or deemed to be) on time.
